Saying Goodbye...
Such a strange thing to write, even after running it through in my head a million times over the last couple of weeks. We have decided to close our business after 18 years of blood, sweat, tears and much joy. Poorly family members are needing a lot of help and support, and it has been becoming increasingly difficult to juggle the more than full time demands of Pretty Beautiful with family time. We aren't ever going to get this time back with them, so they have to come first right now.
Secondly, I have the opportunity to do something I have dreamt of for many years. I adore ceramics and sculpture, I think I always have, and whenever I get a spare minute, out comes the clay and whatever project I am slowly working on. Clay and it's possibilities make my insides fizz with excitement (if that makes any sense at all!) and I have the chance to set up a home pottery studio. I need to get good at it, properly good, so that I can sell my work and earn a living from it, and this seems like the perfect time to do it. I'm going to give myself a year to get reasonably good, and then hopefully start selling a few pieces (fingers and toes crossed).
We're sad to say goodbye to Pretty Beautiful. Creating the business has been our life for 18 years, but its time to move on and spend time with our loved ones and see what exciting things the future has in store for us. We'll be keeping the same email address for a few months, so if anyone needs anything, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We'll be more than happy to help in any way we can.
Most of all we want to say a massive thank you to every single one of you. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to meet you at shows, talk to you over the phone or by email, to have our pieces stocked in your beautiful stores, and to be a tiny part of your lives and special occasions over the years. We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished these past 18 years, and all of it is thanks to you, so thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
I'll stop typing now before I cry on the keyboard, but if you would like to follow along on my pottery journey, I will be changing our social media pages over to focus on our new adventures in the coming weeks. We'd love to see you there.
Much love, and bye for now
Lyndsay & Chris xx
